Google Doodle
In the month of February Mrs. Lipscomb introduced an exciting drawing competition that the Kindergarten students can participate in. Google is holding another Google Doodle competition and is looking for inventors and artists. Google is asking students to create an invention that could be used to help people, animals, the environment, and even the whole world! The students brainstormed many different ideas and then put those ideas to their paper. They drew their invention around the iconic "google" script. Let's hope one of our students is chosen!

Ancient Artists
In the month of January, Mr. Augustine joined the morning kindergarten to teach us about the very firsts artists. We learned about cave paintings. We discussed the techniques, materials they used, and where some of these amazing first paintings have been found. The students then made their own cave drawings by using crumpled brown paper bags and oil pastels. The students tried replicating some of these original paintings by drawing things found in nature and using organic colors. Then they glued their paintings on black board to simulate a cave!
